Ed Coleman

“I have been painting for over twenty years and was mentored by Gladys Stocks, who was taught by the early Saint John painters. My favourite medium is oils using a loaded brush and mixing the primary colours to make impasto scenes of cityscapes and landscapes. Also I love to do brilliant imaginary florals. My paintings have strong lines with an impressionistic/expressionistic look. During the summer months I work outside finishing paintings, taking in the atmosphere which I find to be an intoxicating experience. At least once a year I teach a six week workshop with twenty participants called ‘Releasing Your Creativity’. I have had a number of solo exhibits as well as participating in group shows. My work is in private collections in North America and Europe.”
