Carol Taylor

It's been a busy year!

My New Brunswick Museum exhibit Future Fossils opens June 1st to the public until Oct. 2011. It is a series of work based on the geography of a portion of southern NB that is included in Stonehammer, the very first Geopark in North America. The work began in 2009 and the story is now complete.

Recently I made a series 13 clay Buddhas for Saint John Theatre Company's Black Comedy shown at the Imperial. All of which were smashed as part of the story. I have made a couple of new ones, glazed and ready for someone's garden. As well there are a couple of other garden sculptures called Garden Gals.

My HOPE in 21 Languages women's shelter book, made to be used for a fundraiser is also complete this year. Images from that series will be exhibited in the studio, three are currently available at Klausen Framing on Prince William.

During the production of the Future Fossil work I continued to make new mugs, red wine cups and wine goblets....all of which are available by contacting me at 847-8754.

URNS: I had a commission to make an urn which was very successful, one is shown in the images, painted with NB flowers as requested. I also experimented with an ancient pottery technique to produce another style, both can be seen and ordered from my studio.

One of my duties is updating my (www.caroltaylor.ca ) and my husband's website which you can visit by going to www.gerrytaylor.ca
